Hi, I am Dario Novak, a dentist based in Zagreb, Croatia.
Two years ago, I completed the Mastering Contemporary Prosthodontics course in Cologne.
With over a decade of clinical experience and more than 700 SmileCloud cases, my team and I have developed a proven protocol for esthetic smile design, which always begins with just one photo.
'The Smile Protocol' has become an essential part of our daily workflow, and patients love it - many even shape their own smiles, at least in a way.
I am passionate about digital planning in dentistry, so I've been lecturing for nearly ten years, mainly on smile design, Icon infiltration, composite and ceramic veneers, and crown-lengthening procedures.
As an ambassador for SmileCloud,
I actively supported and beta tested the new 3DNA, an innovative software for predictable planning and visualization.
I have spoken in over 10 countries across three continents at congresses, private courses, and workshops, largely thanks to DMG Hamburg, which recognized me as their International Opinion Leader.
Recently, I founded
a startup called
“Corona Dentis” and joined EIT Health HUB Croatia, pitching my innovative approach to dental education - integrating interactive clinical videos and gamified online workshops, much of which is incorporated into this hybrid online format.
My most recognized workshops are the 'The Smile Protocol' live demonstrations, which showcase cutting-edge techniques for planning and placing composite and ceramic veneers using the latest smile design software such as SmileCloud 3DNA.
This hybrid workshop combines clinical aspects with practical experience in SmileCloud planning, preparations, and restorations.
With over six hours of clinical recordings - including cases involving composite veneers, ceramic veneers, and crown-lengthening (both flapless and full-flap approaches) - this unique workshop stands out in the area of combining digital, practical, and clinical knowledge.
Outside the clinic, I’m someone who loves movement, people, and small everyday adventures. I recharge by biking, traveling, and trying new things - whether it’s a place, a skill, or a completely different idea.
I’m a husband (and soon a dad), and my family is the center of everything I do. I love getting my hands dirty, both in dentistry and in life, and I’m not great at postponing things - which sometimes means I take on a lot, but it also keeps me curious and moving forward.
When I’m not planning smiles, you’ll often find me behind a camera, riding my Vespa, or with a good book in my hands – anything from an easy novel to psychology.
I care deeply about my friends and work hard to keep them close; even now we still get together for board game nights whenever we can. Those moments – with family, friends, travel, and small rituals – keep me grounded and remind me why I do what I do every day.
